Awards:
Summa Cum Laude
DeVry University
Received for graduation from DeVry University, Summa Cum Laude, which was achieved in 2011 with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. Criteria: There are actually three classes of Latin academic honors in use in the United States and around the world, and most universities use at least two of them. All universities use cum laude, which means “with praise.” Some universities also add magna cum laude, which translates to “with great praise”. The third honor is summa cum laude, for “with highest praise,” used for only the very best students. Most universities use the Latin terms rather than the English for honors, whether or not they print diplomas in Latin.
Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal
United States Marine Corps
This award was received in recognition and praise for a high level of professionalism and service throughout the duration of my appointment as the Operations Chief of AC/S Environmental Security on Camp Pendleton, CA from 2005 to 2007, to include sustained combat operations during my augmentation / tour from August 2005 - March 2006. Criteria: To be awarded for meritorious service, the service must be outstanding and worthy of special recognition, but not to the degree required for the Bronze Star Medal or Air Medal when combat is involved or the Meritorious Service Medal or Air Medal when combat is not involved. the award may cover an extended period of time during which a higher award may have been recommended or received for specific act(s). The criteria, however, should not be the period of service involved, but rather the circumstances and conditions under which the service was performed. The performance should be well above that usually expected of an individual commensurate with the individual's grade or rate, and above that degree of excellence which can be appropriately reflected in the individual's fitness report or personnel records.
Certificate of Recognition (APEX)
Vice President, Recovery Services
Awarded for 'advancing professional excellence'. "Dear Terry Boedeker, I take great pleasure when employees go the extra mile for our subscribers and / or fellow employees. SunGard is dedicated to service excellence everyday, as it's the foundation of everything we do. Your outstanding performance of Pride and Excellence has been appreciated through an APEX nomination in August 2010 from Ky Hopewell of SunGard Availability Services who notes, "There are a number of reasons for this nomination of Terry. (1) Terry has taken a strong leadership position in the entire move of the Renton Work Place Services facility to the new Federal Way facility. He has spent long hours in ensuring that the new facility is first class in every way, and his support of both the sales team as we moved with the facility, and our customers has been outsanding. Terry has been there to support the first SunGard User Group meeting in the new facility, provided an excellent tour of the facility and helped ot ensure a very successful meeting. (2) Terry has gone above and beyond the call of duty to troubleshoot and diagnose and work with SunGard network to fix a network routing issue that if not changed would have resulted in a failure of one of our key customer's tests in the Seattle area. This was not a simple task and took a great deal of drive and commitment to ensure a happy customer. (3) Terry does a great job in both preparing for a test and being here to support our customers during their testing."
Combat Action Ribbon
United States Marine Corps
Received for engaging the enemy, multiple accounts in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Eligibility Requirements : Awarded to members of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard (when the Coast Guard or units thereof operate under the control of the Navy) in the grade of captain/colonel and junior thereto, who have actively participated in ground or surface combat. Upon submission of evidence to their commanding officer, personnel who earned the Combat Infantryman Badge or Combat Medical Badge while a member of the U.S. Army may be authorized to wear the Combat Action Ribbon. The principal eligibility criterion is that the individual must have participated in a bona fide ground or surface combat fire fight or action during which he was under enemy fire and his performance while under fire was satisfactory. The following amplifying remarks are furnished as guidance.
