Tube Clamp

View page
US Patent:
2005003, Feb 17, 2005
Filed:
Aug 13, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/639763
Inventors:
Leonard Hixon - Lookout Mountain GA,
Randy Nunley - Signal Mountain TN,
Assignee:
Tennessee Rand Co., Inc. - Chattanooga TN
International Classification:
B23Q003/08
US Classification:
269032000
Abstract:
A tube clamp having a housing with a guide slot for receiving a tube, a clamp lever arm rotatably mounted in the housing and an actuator cylinder. The actuator cylinder applies a first force against the clamp lever arm for urging a clamping surface to move against an outer surface of a tube that has been inserted in the guide slot, so as to retain the tube in a tube clamping position between a clamping surface in the guide slot and a clamping surface on the clamp lever, and upon subsequent energization, applying a second force against the clamp lever arm for urging the clamp lever arm to rotate toward a tube releasing position. The tube clamp also includes a link having end stops for engaging clamp lever arm cam surfaces, wherein reciprocal movement of the link drives the clamp lever arm in rotation between a clamp position and a release position.

Method For Recycling Formalin

View page
US Patent:
5685987, Nov 11, 1997
Filed:
Sep 24, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/718866
Inventors:
Leonard Lee Hixon - Dalton GA
Joe Edward Taylor - Lookout Mtn. GA
John Joseph Matthews Rees - Signal Mnt. TN
Michael Robert Lafriniere - Hixon TN
Assignee:
Tresco, LLC - Chattanooga TN
Vision Medical, Inc. - Hixson TN
International Classification:
B01D 6502
B01D 6500
A01N 100
US Classification:
210636
Abstract:
A formalin fluid recycler has a combination triple pipe nozzle for introducing dirty fluid into the recycler and for expelling concentrate and permeate fluid therefrom. Dirty fluid is pumped through a strainer, filtration module and charcoal filter to purify and clarify the dirty fluid. The formalin fluid can be recirculated in the system via the nozzle or be directed to a clean receptacle. Dirty formalin fluid is further cleansed by Ozone and ultraviolet light. Percent concentration and pH level of clean recycled formalin fluid is adjusted outside of the main recycling loop. Cleaning and preservative solutions are circulated through the recycler when necessary.

System For Forming Elastomeric Core/Staple Fiber Wrap Yarn Using A Spinning Machine

View page
US Patent:
5701729, Dec 30, 1997
Filed:
Jun 3, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/657182
Inventors:
John Joseph M. Rees - Signal Mountain TN
Leonard L. Hixon - Dalton GA
Assignee:
Dixie Yarns, Inc. - Chattanooga TN
International Classification:
D02G 336
US Classification:
57 3
Abstract:
A system for forming elastomeric core/staple fiber wrap yarn using a spinning machine such as an air jet, roller jet or roller spinning machine. The system includes a package drive assembly, yarn motion and presence sensors, an improved drafting assembly and a yarn clearer delay cylinder to provide continuous formation of superior quality elastomeric core/wrap yarn.

Elastomeric Core/Staple Fiber Wrap Yarn

View page
US Patent:
5749212, May 12, 1998
Filed:
Jun 6, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/470209
Inventors:
John Joseph M. Rees - Signal Mountain TN
Leonard L. Hixon - Dalton GA
Assignee:
Dixy Yarns, Inc. - Chattanooga TN
International Classification:
D02G 302
D02G 336
US Classification:
57225
Abstract:
A jet spun twistless core/wrapped elastic yarn product. The core yarn of the core/wrapped yarn is a unitary elastomeric filament. The core yarn is contiguously provided around the core with staple fibers. The inner portion of the staple fibers extends in the same direction as the elastomeric core and an outer wrapper portion of the staple fibers is helically wound around and holds the inner portion of the staple fibers on the core.

Wire Clamp

View page
US Patent:
2004011, Jun 17, 2004
Filed:
Aug 13, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/639761
Inventors:
Leonard Hixon - Lookout Mountain GA,
Randy Nunley - Signal Mountain TN,
Assignee:
Tennessee Rand Co., Inc. - Chattanooga TN
International Classification:
B23K037/00
US Classification:
228/044300, 228/004500
Abstract:
A wire clamp including a housing having a guide slot for receiving a wire, a first clamp arm rotatably mounted in the housing and having a first wire clamping surface, a second clamp arm rotatably mounted in the housing and having a second wire clamping surface, a bias means for applying a tension force between the first and second clamp arms, and an actuator cylinder for applying a pushing force against the first clamp arm. The second clamp arm, when receiving pressure from a wire inserted in the guide slot, rotates against the tension force toward a clamping position and thereby clamps such wire between the first and second wire clamping surfaces by the tension force. Activation of the actuator cylinder applies a pushing force against the first clamp arm to urge the first clamp arm to rotate against the tension force toward an open position so that an increased tension force simultaneously acting on the second clamp urges the second clamp to rotate toward an ejection position, thereby ejecting the wire.
